God’s Covenant with Abraham

And now that we are Christ’s we are the true descendants of Abraham, and all of God’s promises to him belong to us
God chose Abram and gave him a promise which is applicable to all Christians.
God said to Abram in Gen12:1-2 .
- I will make of you a great nation…this means you will not be small. Great people will come out of you. Your children will be mighty.
- I will bless you [with abundant increase of favours] and make your name famous and distinguished,
- God said you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others]….this means things will work because you are around. This is what happened to Laban, He was blessed because of Jacob. Your company or business will be blessed because of you. Your team will have a breakthrough because of God’s covenant with Abraham which is applicable to you.
- I will bless those who bless you [who confer prosperity or happiness upon you] and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed [and by you they will bless themselves]…..this means you should be nice to your fellow Christians especially your spouse if you don’t want the wrath of this part of the covenant.
Take note of the word “I”, its all about what God will do in our lives
